1. Our commitment
Dior's Jewelers wants this website to work for everyone, including people who use assistive technology. We treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a box to tick, and we welcome being told when we have got something wrong.
2. What this site was built to
This website was built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. That is the standard the guidelines set out; it is not a certification, and no website or developer can certify compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act or any similar law.
How it has been tested
- Automated testing with axe-core on every page template, at desktop, tablet and phone widths, with critical and serious issues fixed.
- Automated checks that every page has one main heading, headings in order, landmarks, a page title and a language attribute.
- Keyboard testing of the menu, the contact form and the cookie banner.
What still needs to be done by a person
Automated tools find only a minority of accessibility barriers. The following manual testing is still outstanding and we will update this page when it is complete:
- a full keyboard-only run through every page and the contact form;
- a screen-reader run using NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack;
- zoom and reflow testing at 200% and 400% and at 320 pixels wide;
- testing the form's error and success messages with assistive technology.
3. What we have built in
- Semantic HTML with landmarks, one main heading per page and headings in logical order.
- A skip-to-content link, a visible focus outline on everything you can interact with, and a full keyboard path through the site.
- Text contrast of at least 4.5:1, and never color alone to carry meaning.
- Layout that holds at 200% and 400% zoom and down to 320 pixels wide without sideways scrolling.
- Alternative text on every meaningful image, and empty alternative text on decorative ones.
- Form fields with real labels, errors stated in text and tied to the field, and a success message that is announced without moving your focus.
- Touch targets of at least 24 by 24 pixels, and at least 44 pixels tall for the main buttons.
- Animation that stops when your device is set to reduce motion.
- A map and a spam check that load only when you ask for them, so neither blocks the page.
4. The accessibility button
Every page carries a floating accessibility button. It opens a panel where you can change text size, contrast, letter spacing and similar settings, saved in your own browser between visits. It is there for comfort and convenience. It is not the basis of our accessibility work and it does not substitute for the accessible code described above.
5. Known limitations
- Google Maps. The embedded map is Google's and may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. We do not load it until you ask for it, and every page that offers it also offers a plain "Get directions" link and our full address in text.
- Google reCAPTCHA. When enabled, it runs invisibly in the background and does not ask you to solve a puzzle. If it ever blocks you, call or email us and we will take your message that way.
- Photographs supplied by third parties. We write our own alternative text for every image. If any image is described poorly, please tell us.
6. Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site does not work for you, we want to know, and we will also help you directly by phone or in store in the meantime.
- Email: sales@diorsjewelerssugarloaf.com with "Accessibility" in the subject line
- Phone: (678) 847-0079
- In person: Sugarloaf Mills Mall, Suite 575, 5900 Sugarloaf Mills Cir, Lawrenceville, GA 30043
We aim to reply within three business days. Please tell us the page address and what happened, and we will come back to you with what we can do and when.
7. Our boutique
Sugarloaf Mills Mall has accessible parking, step-free entrances, wide walkways, seating and accessible restrooms, and our boutique entrance is step-free. Tell us what would make your visit easier and we will arrange it.
8. Technical notes
- Tested in the last two major versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.
- Intended to work with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack.
- The site relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Core content and the contact details remain readable if JavaScript is unavailable.
